LLMRT dog rescue montage, 3 kb

A heartwarming shaggy dog story reached us today, after Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team spent Sunday afternoon poking about down a nasty-looking crevice in aid of a stuck sheepdog. It's more caving than climbing.

I think we saw this team as we were heading down the Pass at 10ish on Sunday morning. If so that was a long day!

In reply to UKC News: How did they knock up some steak and sausage? Were they having a bbq?
 drolex 15 Oct 2013
In reply to UKC News: This "light and fast" philosophy has gone way too far. This dog clearly didn't have the proper equipment to go caving. Of course there will be some people to admire it but I find it irresponsible. Next week a pug will try to do the same, with disastrous consequences.

great video. I'm not normally claustrophobic but think I would get a bit freaked out if I was in the crack for over an hour!

In reply to EarlyBird: We were training with SARDA Wales Sunday morning but got the call later in the day, so not as epic as an all day job!

Steak and sausages courtesy of the farmer, team members and a certain local centres kitchen!

For a time it was looking like it wouldn't be a happy ending and all that great footage would go to waste but Kes did an amazing job, first time using a clipstick too!

More agreeable than having your collar snagged by a dog's lipstick.

In reply to UKC News:

Sorry, I missed the climbing there, did anyone else see it?
 andrewmc 16 Oct 2013
In reply to Merlin:

If you look again, you will see:

Mountain rescue (mountaineering falling within the topic of UKC)
On a mountain (again, mountaineering)
Use of ropes/equipment in ways common in climbing (climbing)
Anchors being used (trad climbing)
A rock face, or rather two very close together (climbing)
Thrutching around to gain progress on rock, albeit in the wrong direction (climbing)
A clipstick! (sport climbing)

See, lots of climbing

:P
