Im going to the Pyrenees this summer to see to see the Ax 3 Domaines stage of the tour de France on 8th July. Im planning to stay over for the following week to do some road cycling and was looking at finding a nice campsite in the central Pyrenees. Ideally situated within close range of some of the classic routes and also more on the quieter side i.e. not full of families and loads of tourists. Any recomendations?

In reply to Palomino1hills: I live in Bareges on the road to the Tourmalet. There is a lovely little camp site here called http://www.laribere.com/ just on the way into the village. It would put you in striking distance of the Tourmalet, Aspin, Ardiden, Aubisque, Solour, Peyresourde.... have a gander at mountainbug and pyrenees cycling who are based there and offer trips (for an idea of what you could do).
