Hi, this might not be very useful but just a warning:
Kerosene in french usually means jet (aviation) fuel in english
Kerosene in english usually means "petrole a combustion" in french
White gas usually refers to 100% naptha and can be called "essence C " in french.
You should be able to buy "petrôle à combustion" in the hardware shop around the corner from "Technique Extreme" or maybe at Super U. (They usually sell it in the Super U in Les Houches.) The hardware shop, a kilometre or so out of town, on the Route des Pelerins will have a bigger selection.
However, I would strongly advise you to check, say at Snells, to see what the locals would use.
For example, my son uses "petrôle desaromatise" for his fireball juggling, which is equivalent to "Coleman fuel"
Sorry that I cannot be more positive. Good luck.
