Ok, so with all this snow anyone have any tips for the best skiing or touring in or around London. I know its a bit silly, but I thought I could go to one of the parks or if there are some nice hills around london where I could do some touring.

In reply to nigel pearson: As a child, back in the 60s I can remember seeing folk skiing on Coombe Hill near Wendover in the Chilterns (we made do with our home made sledges)

Given good snow cover might be worthwhile ?

Not done any touring inside the m25 but when used to live in hanwell spent many happy hours on my x-c skis on the local golf course. Good rolling terrain, relatively smooth, no fences and no annoying gates like you get on country paths. Am now living in the chiltern and looking forward to heading off for a ski down and around the chess valley this afternoon minus avalanche paraphernalia

I did a nice tour around clapham a few years ago to get to work!

South Downs posibly your best bet, if the roads are clear.
