In reply to Jack Geldard - Editor - UKC: Not being a boxer, it actually took me some half an hour on Wikipedia and BBC Sport to decide what would be the appropriate weight class for the comparison. But now I know my weight classes much more than before!
There was a podcast from Slate.com the other day about "the death of planned obsolescence" - they were talking about how with gadgets now, if they don't work so well on release are made to work better later with free software upgrades and fixes for all owners(
http://www.slate.com/id/2197263/ ). It's never going to be that easy for something as mechanically simple as biner, but DMM have twice recently been willing to listen to experiences of climbers with their products (the slippy offset nuts and now sport climbers wanting shadows on fat tapes) and very quickly respond to those suggestions. They should be commended for this, not all firms are as flexible.
