Just curious, but when you say

"There are 37,963 registered climbers at UKClimbing.com"

is that the number of currently live individual profiles? Its well known that some of us have more than one; do you judge that actually there aren't that many duplicates in the overall figure?

and surely not everyone here actually climbs? ;¬)

wow, do most people only spend 10 minutes on here at a time?

In reply to nikinko and fimm:

Yes there are some duplicates in the registered users; some do have two profiles. Inactive accounts, that are inactive for a year, are purged daily. Many websites do not do this, they quote a figure of registered users that they have since they started. That figure for UKC would be 100,000 plus. So registered users is not an exact figure, but it is a good ball park for active registered users that you put into the mix of other figures from Google analytics.

Regular visiitors, both registered and not, will climb. Our last readership survey put non-climbers at less that 2%. I don't really want to get into a discussion about what consitutes a climber. Many climb 3/4 times a week, some just once a month; all are climbers.

That is an average, hard core visitors spend hours.
