The 2005 Vancouver Mountain Film Festival Winners included two British films: Richard Else's "The Adventure is not Yet Over", and Alistair Lee and David Halstead's film "Twice upon a Time in Bolivia"

Best Film Overall - Festival Grand Prize, The Dan Culver Award
"Being Caribou" by Leanne Allison and Diana Wilson (Canada, 2004)

Best Film on Mountaineering - The Alpine Club of Canada Award
"Women of K2" by Geoff Rhoads and Jennifer Jordan (USA, 2004)

Best Film on Mountain Culture - The David Macaree Award
"The Adventure is Not Yet Over" by Richard Else (UK, 2004)

Best Film on Rockclimbing - The Katharine Anne Rae Award (Festival Award)
"The Optimists" by Josh Lowell (USA, 2005)

Best Film on Mountain Biking (Festival Award)
"100% Woman" by Kren Duthie and Diana Wilson (Canada, 2003)

Jury's Award (Festival Award)
"Twice Upon a Time in Bolivia" by Alastair Lee and David Halsted (UK, 2004)

Best Canadian Mountain Film (Festival Award)
"Being Caribou" by Leanne Allison and Diana Wilson (Canada, 2004)

Special Mention
"The Life" by Jun-Ki Kim (South Korea, 2004)

The Film Festival Competition was juried by Joe Josephson (writer, photographer and climber), Anna Pietraszek (award winning filmmaker), Peter Croft (climber and photographer), Jack Christie (journalist), and Colleen Campbell (visual artist, designer and climber). The VIMFF Jury was coordinated by Jeannette Blahova and Leah Blok.
