Splitboarding Inverness

I'm thinking about getting into snowboarding after a bit of a layoff (well, ten years!). A chance encounter with a couple at the Brin Rock parking spot yesterday got me thinking about splitboarding, which is something I've never done before. Is anyone on here a splitboarder/ski tourer in Inverness and could take me out and teach me a thing or two?

Cheers, Andy

long time since I was a member (& the name was different then) but maybe worth contacting the local ski touring club?

The club sort of reinvented itself a few years ago and is now pretty big and pretty active.

To the OP, I'd say they're a good place to start. You can join their FB page if you want to ask anything: https://m.facebook.com/groups/154348047966889

I think it had pretty much died a death but it's been really successful as an all inclusive snow sports club.

Ah brilliant, thanks for that info! Unfortunately/fortunately I'm not on Facebook so can't access that page!

In reply to weebluevan_andy: hi Andy

If you’re interested in the club the best place to start is the club web site which contains a wealth of information incl past club trips. You can also view the first part of the current season club programme which was curtailed due to the current restrictions. Several split board members incl one who is on the club committee. Cheers

Cheers Al, I'll take a look!

I've just bought a normal board, so any tips on decent spots to go as a refresher (not boarded for 10 years, but before that I was snowboarding every day for 4 months) greatly appreciated! Also, if anyone has any spare snow shoes trhey can lend/sell, that would be appreciated!
