I have a few pairs of kids skis of various brands . The bindings on a couple of pairs fit onto a rail that allows easy adjustment for various boot sizes , in the same way a rental ski does .

Firstly, is there a generic name for this type of binding ?

Secondly , are they interchangeable between brands ? So will a set of Dynastar bindings fit on a saloman rail and vice versa ?

the reason I ask is that I m looking at a set of look kids bindings On ebay, as I need another pair, but they appear to be the more usual screw into one place type but I can't really tell .

Hi Mike,

Firstly generic name is as you said track/ rail mounted bindings, or sometimes just rental bindings.

Secondly, it depends on the model of binding and is basically pot look, not all bindings will fit the same rail system, some rails are slightly wider than others etc and could provide an unsafe fit. The only way to tell for sure would be try them as a pair or luck out and find someone who's done this before.

Anymore questions let me know
