Scarpa USA are recalling the fall 2017 batch of Maestrale and Maestrale RS due to a design/manufacturing problem that could lead to the boot cracking. Does anyone know whether the problem affects these boots bought in UK or whether Scarpa UK are going to issue the same recall?

I worked in a Canadian ski shop last winter and saw quite a few of the toes cracked, so not surprised by the recall.

The recall page should give you enough info as to identifying whether you have one of the issue batch boots.

Scarpa UK have confirmed to me that no batches in the UK were affected boots.

Similarly, I have been assured that UK bought boots will not be affected by the defect found in the early production boots - which apparently all went to N America

I purchased mine in France and they are affected. Scarpa have offered to fix them, but the shells have had some work so I'm not sure if I'll take them up.

There are some comments below this article from other European buyers: https://www.wildsnow.com/26777/scarpa-recall-maestrale-rs-ski-touring-boot/
