Surely there can't be anything to be better at than this.....😉
Adequate skills.
your links are broken, but I'm guessing its Candide Thovex ?
I was messing around with the link and lost it,should be back up?
It's Sam Kuch..from BC...although Candide is an all time favourite...
> Surely there can't be anything to be better at than this.....😉
brain surgery ?
vaccine development ?
Latte art ?
Latte art could be quite handy...🤣
Will take a look.
My all time favourite ski sequence is still the late great JP Auclairs street ski section in All.I.Can, the cinematography alone is enough to keep me watching it.

A nice cup of tea and a good sit down.

That's magic and introduced me to LCD Soundsystem.
> That's magic and introduced me to LCD Soundsystem.
Yes, that track is a good one in particular.
Well it depends what the criteria for determining best skier are. It certainly looks like he's up there with the best freeride skiers but how do you think he'd do in a world cup downhill race on the Hahnenkamm?
I think we know the answer.....I remember seeing Bode Miller try Free Style skiing and I think it took some adapting....
The late Patrick Vallencant (Argentiere) outstanding extreme skier who pushed boundaries.
Good call....I always like Bella Coola..Salomon Freeski.
Got me into Patrick Watson.
Sam Cohen All in:pt 2..skiing the Chilkat...skiing fluted spines...The weekenders i think??
I watching a ski clip the other day and a seasoned skier from this era..said ''do none of you knuckledraggers ever turn anymore"....I thought it was funny.
Saucer boy was great.
and while one of his mates mom isn’t the best skier in the world. She’s still to be admired.
When I grow older, I wanna be like Bunny!
And Mike Douglas thinks he's old...
Just watched Urs Kryenbuehl crash from last week....he wasn't moving!
Franz Klammer winning Olympic gold at Patscherkofel in 1976 still holds a very special place in my book.

Spectacularly useless .
Thanks...🤣
I admire these athletes...

Do they ski on grit, at all?
... is the one having the most fun.
Axel Naglich and Peter Ressmann's ski descent of Mount St. Elias was pretty impressive...
For pure freeride and Steezy-ness its gotta be Candide Thovex
Very true
> That's not skiing it's 'falling with style'
>
The trick is to keep both skis on....
Never happens to me..
> When I grow older, I wanna be like Bunny!
I'm getting towards that age and I wanna be like Bunny too!
You're selling your coffee making abilities, once lockdown is finished you'll have queue of punters.
Unfortunately I can only watch ski films at the moment, this time last year I was falling down the Swiss Wall..🤣
I remember seeing longer footage of this clip youtube.com/watch?v=CUxS9B0IjUQ& on telly years ago and being blown away.
Yup - Alexis Pinturault or Beat Feuz aint to bad skiers !
The Rocket hasn't had a bad season either !
( Nor Bolshunov for that matter )
Not heard of most of the names on here but when I was learning, Jean Claude Killy was the best and will remain so in my mind.
One of my favourite bits of ski film doesn't really involve much skiing, it's the interview with Stephano de Benedetti in Steep. So calm and unassuming.
Steep as a whole is a great one.
i also liked the doc about skiing Grand Teron... can’t remember the name of it though.
in fact, I vastly prefer the older flicks. Much more low key, but a lot better vibe. The first Freeradicals flicks were really good. As was 1999 and the earlier Walls of Freedom by Scott Gaffney.

I can't cope with much of that yeehaw rad to the power of gnarrr type stuff. Quiet, thoughtful people who love the mountains just getting on doing what they do is more my thing. Always liked Andreas Fransson for that reason.
> I can't cope with much of that yeehaw rad to the power of gnarrr type stuff.
Older Freeradicals were not like MSP or TGR flicks. More skiing, and less yeehaw etc. That might be simply cause it was just a bunch of friends in a car or two skiing and filming. The US big productions were much more flamboyent even during that time.
But if low key flicks are your thing, try to get 1999 or Walls of Freedom from somewhere (Scott or his brother might still have them on sale in DVD on their website). While they feature some nice skiing, they are both slower paced and actually tell a story.

Heres how Sylvain Saudan used to train.

Teton?...

Sherpa make some nice little films...Canadian based.
They did one about Colombia River which links the Powder Highway.
Nope. A friend made that documentary. And it’s not Sherpa Cinema. All.I.Can was a nice flick by them though.
afaik the doc I’m talkin’ about was only published on DVD in the early to mid 2000. Like said, I have that (and other early 2000, or earlier like Walls of Freedom and 1999) on a box somewhere.
Sorry you are all wrong... this is the best skier in the world, and best ski video

When you said Grand Teron I thought you meant Grand Teton..sorry.
Your friend made with film again?...I'll be keen to watch it..
Teton Gravity Research make some nice films.
Ah. I do mean Grand Teton. Teton -> Teron is autocorrect
