As title suggests, need spikes which go over regular running shoes.
Mostly road running with icey/snowy patches. I imagine most types would wear out pretty quickly but this snow and ice is not going anywhere for a while and I need to get out. <pokes fat belly>

I've not used them on the road but off-road have had great success with Kahtoola microspikes.

Kahtoolas are ace for off road and icy snowy conditions.

Yaktrax are better if you are likely to encounter roads too and dont want to keep taking them off.

You will see what I mean when looking at the two products. I have both and love them both for their relatively different applications. They are both comfortable and easy to use over trainers and trail/fell shoes.

Doubt the Yaktrax will last as long, but cheaper, and on sale I think with Go Outdoors right now.

In reply to sarahkeast: Cool, they sound like just what I need. Ive just been out for a walk in some of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002LWDCE6/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00 and my feet didnt slide once, but doubt theyd last long on a run.
