Very sadly the local Avon caving/climbing pioneer Ron King died recently. I met him when learning about Frome Valley climbing as he was first to explore there, unearthing some great climbs [here he is talking about his Frome exploits, around 3.40 mins - youtube.com/watch?v=n4eazOb64ag&]. I got to know him more learning about his early explorations in the Avon Gorge. Ron was a lovely chap, known to his friends as 'Kangy'. He was warm and welcoming, always happy to chat, always full of the spirit of adventure and exploration. So I put together a short film to remember him with, where he talks about his first climb and the first quest up Giants Cave Buttress. Ciao Ron x

Wonderful chap, feel honoured to have met him and climb with him (at the age of 85!).
