Has anyone climbed Pex lately? Not been for a few years and last pass it looked like a drugs den.

read something about new belay bolts at the top to avoid using the fence and a cleanup. Does anyone know if this is true? Are the bolts useable- in good condition?

Not sure about bolts but it's certainly had a decent clean up by some committed locals over the last 6-12 months. I haven't been since just before lockdown but there were no litter problems then.

The bolt belays had to be put in - assisted by the BMC - because the owners banned using the railings. We set up the Friends of Pex Hill Facebook group (just search on FB and ask to join - nearly 500 members) to co-ordinate clean ups, news and meeting your mates. We cleared a lot of brush, levelled the bases etc - guided by the ecologists So now the quarry is as good for climbing as it’s ever been. We also keep an eye on other crags in the area such as Frogsmouth & Harmers Wood.

In reply to Pekkie: Awesome thanks both.

Don’t do FB but will get the lads on it and throw into the bolt fund

I was going there fairly regularly over lock down as it was local but haven't been in the last month or so. It's all in great condition and there are usually a good bunch of people there as well.
