Is it stiff or is it the altitude?

On average most things I've climbed out there (particularly sport climbing) I feel should have had a plus grade at the minimum added to them?

Yeah, I always found the sport pretty tough. I don’t believe it’s the altitude.

I think it's just italian grades.  I find the same thing in the Bergamasca, i can climb 6b in Spain, E1/2 at home but often struggle on 6a in Italy.

Which means you have to drop more grades than you expect when you look at the big trad routes in the Dollies.

I thought the routes required a level of commitment greater than that of our popular rock routes. If you're an esoteric fan, then I guess the mindset might suit better.

Grades wise, the conversion was alien to me. So it was all a learning experience. But we still did well with respect to grades climbed, but we did go for mostly trad multipitch. And yes, altitude did nail us at the start of the week....
