I've started a new ticklist to contain all of Colin Kirkus'  FA climbs as there are 2 incomplete ones

I've got some routes from the old Ron James guide but let me know omissions/errors and I'll update, there was mention in the forums of the Wayfarers having a complete list - anyone know ?

Did Kirkus do the FA of Piton Route, Avon Gorge?

I thought it was a Graham Balcombe Route, circa 1935, with 1PA.

Hands of a Climber by Steve Dean lists 23 1st ascents in the index. Annoyingly for an index they are not in alphabetical order so difficult to compare with yours.

I'd be surprised if those lists contain all his routes. Pretty sure Rake End Chimney on E Wall Idwal Slabs was by Kirkus, used to be VD, think piton used on first ascent (probably due to veg). Perhaps worth checking through comprehensive guides to Snowdonia in particular.

Here's a few from older guides to Idwal area, some routes and cliffs might be too minor for current guides. Central Rib, Grooved Wall, The Crack(Cwm Cywion), South Gully,Two Pitch and One Pitch routes (Bochlwyd), Little Buttress, Arch Gully, False Route, Hawk Slab (haven't rechecked your lists to see if some of these are there already).

thanks for all the info, i've been through the latest ogwen cc guide, up to 45 no, but i think Helsby has loads more plus i'll have to look through llanberis + other guides
