If anyone has any additions, especially outside of the North Yorkshire area it’d be great to hear from you.

I’ll get around to making a traditional route ticklist too, if anyone is feeling sustainable brave.

Emilio.

Rubble can be climbed as 7c to the first belay.

Rubble (7c)

In reply to Steve Crowe:

Thanks Steve.

I’ll make a ticklist following in your footsteps too at some point.

In reply to Emilio Bachini:

There's at least two in New Zealand:

Red Snapper (19)

Kilnsey (20)

In reply to John Southworth:

Many thanks John. That’ll make it a bit trickier to complete. Can you recommend somewhere I might find some more information on routes down that way?

He likes his routes named after fish doesn’t he, Stunned Mullett (7b+)Muted Mackerel (7b)Haggard Herring (7b).

In reply to Emilio Bachini:

I'm sure some of the routes on the list are attributable to Tony Burnell.

In reply to overdrawnboy:

I’ve scoured the Rockfax Northern Limestone guide and it’s likely both of their names are down.

Any mistakes in particular you were thinking of? I’m only reciting the information at hand.

Chris, Tony, Martin Berzins and the late Mark Spreadborough left a trail of new routes on Yorks limestone, many of them done on trad gear but subsequently retro-bolted, as well as the Lakes before Tony emigrated to NZ and Martin disappeared to the States. not sure if Martin is still new routing but Tony is as prolific as ever and has even been helping to develop climbing areas in Tonga.

In reply to Emilio Bachini:

Stunned Mullet is definitely Tony I'm sure I belayed him when he did it though Chris was most likely there too and would have done it just after.

What a great idea. One of climbing's unsung heroes!

In reply to overdrawnboy:

The list isn’t compromised of routes only Chris climbed first, if his name is mentioned in my guidebooks I’ve put it in.
