| / Cairngorms mountain crag conditions! |
Hi all,
Looking to get up to Cairngorms this week and get on some of the mountains crags.
Shelterstone, Hells Lum, Creag an Dubh Loch....etc
Just wondered what the general condition/quick drying nature of the crags is atm and if anyone has any advice on the best big crags to aim for for VS-E1 climbing....
Thanks

We got lucky taking the MIA Assessment from Glenmore Lodge to Stac an Fharaidh 5 days ago. We did Whispers and Mack's Dilemma both of which are VS and were dry but its been pretty damp since then i'm afraid. It would take at least a couple of days for these to dry out again. Something like The Tenements (VDiff) goes ok on a showery day for a VS-E1 leader- a little loose rock to watch out for though and it can be mighty chilly up there this late in the year!
