I'm poring over a topo for a route on Tofana di Rozes  while the rain beats down on my tent. Can anyone tell me what the abbreviation "CL" means on a topo in an Italian guide?

Thanks. Al

Most likely hourglass or "clessidra" in italian. See that thread

It's short for clench. As in, "Clench your arse cheeks now. This bit's loose and run out".
