My friend randomly discovered this on his commute. Apparently an authorised vibram resoler who do climbing shoes. Surprising to me as I've never even heard about them before. Great news as a Londoner as other services seem to be far away or just not very professional (personal experience).

I plan to get a pair done this week so will make an update on quality once I get them back.

Just to confirm I had a pair of La Sportiva Skwama's resoled including the rand at 40 quid (30 if without the rand). The job was good and I would recommend. The best thing for me was the 5 day turnaround - better than I've had anywhere else in the country. If you're in London it's a no brainer to me.

To be clear details are below:

Vibram Academy - Sole Factor
215 City Rd, Hoxton, London EC1V 1JN

I realise it might look like I have some sort of affiliation with these guys, but I assure you, I do not - just want to share some useful info.

Thanks for the info. I'm dropping a few pairs in there today. Looking forward to seeing the results.

Anyone got any feedback yet?

Tried calling and dropped them an email asking about a postal service but haven't heard anything back...

I should be picking a few pairs up at the end of the week. I'll take some pics. When I dropped off I know they were a bit surprised at how it had suddenly got so busy (local wall and this thread I think).

Cheers,

Gwain.

Reading this thread got me thinking about handmade leather boots and my Dad, who went to London to get a pair made by Robert Lawrie because he had very different-sized feet. This took me to an Alpine Club obituary of Lawrie, which mentions the prejudice amongst gentlemen mountaineers against people who were "in trade", i.e. not independently monied. That class of people still exists despite being decimated by the wars and driven undergound or overseas by political correctness and fashionable socialism but it's they who will ensure the old Etonian clown gets the job of PM.

I did not hear anything about a postal service sadly. As I said the resole quality was good however. My limited email communication with them tells me they aren't too savvy with online communication.

Understood, I'll try calling them a few more times.

Fortunately I've bought myself a pair of slippers drom Decathalon and been plesantly surprised so the urgency to get my Scarpas sorted is a bit less.

Picked up 5 pairs from here on Friday. All looked pretty good. I have pics if anyone would like to PM me.

I spoke to one of the guys there and made them aware of UKC. Also mentioned the missing emails.

I will be using them again.

Cheers, Gwain.
