Prawle Point - anyone been recently?

Hi,

Has anyone been to Prawle point recently?

I'm heading down to Slapton Sands this weekend, technically it's a non-climbing holiday but hoping to squeeze in a little bit on Sunday.

I was looking at Kestrel's ArĂȘte (D) and Rib Climb (M) as my partner has not done much outside but would be "happy" at these grades. There hasn't been an ascent logged since Oct 2020, which included the note 'actually quite clean'.

Does anyone know if these are still in good condition, or are they now overgrown? If it's the latter I'll stick with bouldering at Beesands/Torcross.

Cheers for any feedback

No but since you mention Beesands, a friend mentioned a lot of the bouldering has collapsed

I've not been recently, but grew up in the area.  The rock is generally soft and climbing tends towards adventurous.  I'd be wary of taking a relative beginner on any of the coastal stuff in the South Hams.

The bouldering at Mattiscombe is fun if Beesands has disappeared.

Thanks for the advice both. Shame to hear about Beesands.
