Looking at a possible visit to Pigeon's Cave boulders and was hoping for some approach beta if anyone can help. The guide/ukc description says to go down via Pigeon's cave itself which is currently banned due to seal pups, but the boulders themselves are okay.

Anyone know if you can approach the boulders from another direction (other than swimming of course 😉)

No, please don’t go there while the restriction is in place. You have to walk across the beach below the cave at low tide and that is where the seals are. I’m sure you realise how delicate such agreements are.

If that's the case it sounds like the RAD could do with updating. Currently it makes it sound like climbing on the boulders is practical after 1st Jan:

Defined. You may recall on the other channel there was a bit of a hoo ha on the other channel when some people posted a video of people climbing on the technically not banned boulders during the breeding season so maybe a voluntary self-ban is in order.

The delicate nature of agreements isn't the issue, disturbing the seals is the issue!

If you can access your boulder without disturbing them that would technically be fine, but local wildlife groups are watching the seal areas very closely and any activity is likely to cause criticism, and others (like me) regularly have to defend (or condemn) your actions.

Don't even think of going there unless you are certain you won't disturb seals (or nesting birds).

Cheers, thought this might be the case. One for the future then
