Apologies for my ignorance, but I was wondering why someone self belaying recently at Shepherds crag, would also have a hangboard set up there? - which was subsequently left behind. Would it be part of a training session outdoors? Anyway I would like to reunite it with the young fella and got the impression he was a local, very good climber!

Useful way of warming up and getting recruited. Something I often do if I want to jump straight on something a bit hard for me or a project.

I try not to leave mine behind though!

In reply to coldfell: As the post above says it might be easier to warm up on if there is nothing else appropriate particularly with the faff of self belaying!
