I haven't got many old guidebooks for Langdale but struggling to work out how Gillette (E2 5c) could be different to Gillette (E2 5c) did the name evolve and these two need climbs need merging or is the some old school way of climbing this route from 6 routes to the left or something? The only other old guide to Langdale i have seen (Steve ashton's 100 classic climbs in the lakes) as far as i can work out they are the same route.

In reply to Graeme Hammond:

Just having a sort out and old langdale guides within reach.

"The original way avoided  the steep upper section by the rib on the right"

So two separate finishes. 68+69.

The original finish was incorporated into Glorfindal to give the easiest line up that section of crag.

A lot of this historical data tends to get lost with the necessity of more concise modern guides.

In reply to Rick Graham:

thanks
