All my climbing life there has been a tree leaning against, the rockface at Harrisons, clearly dead. I haven't been for a year, I hope it's still there. It's mentioned in the 81 guide and I remember it having branches and that you could use to get to the top of the rocks. Now it's branchless.

I was wondering if anyone knew:

1. When it fell,

2. Why it was left, and

3. How long do we think it will remain.

The crag is probably better without it, but it was there for many years. It had obviously been a feature for quite a while before this picture on the back of Pyatt's 1956 South-East Sandstone guide:

Many of the branches already look damaged/denuded. My guess is that it fell in the early twentieth century.
