What climbing areas as easily accessible via train throughout Spain?

El chorro is the obvious one, with a good train service from Malaga. Chulilla is possible with a bus from Valencia to the village, and has better carless options than Chorro for when it's hot

Callosa de Segura has plenty of climbing about 1 km walk from a train station, Redovan too, just another couple of kilometres along the path. orihuela has plenty too, again about 1 km or so from the station.

Both stations are around an hour from Alicante and 20 minutes from Murcia.

I've no personal experience of it, but some escapist trip planning at some point in the past suggested that the climbing in Cuenca was reasonably convenient for the town, which has a train station.

Again, no personal experience of using it but there is a train line which runs north from Lleida to near some of the crags in that area - terradets, Sant llorenc, Santa linya and so on. Certainly the station nearest terradets, the part of that area I know best, doesn't look an unreasonable walk to bruixes.

Widening that question a bit further, the Calanques in Marseilles are pretty accessible from the city, which has a rail connection to the U.K. and is pretty sunny.

Thanks for the replies! What about accessible by train and cool enough to climb at the end of august?

Might want to head in the other direction e.g. Fort William!!

Picos de Europa is good for august and accessible by train . Once there it’s compact so getting about by bus is comparatively easy. Naranjo de Bulnes offers an iconic rock climbing venue plus there are lots of valley based sports crags nowadays. Beautiful place.

This is probably the most accessible route:

Spain by Train (7a+)

This is Spain, so still a touch hot, but Collegats could be worth considering, but personally I would be in the UK or the Dolomites or Ecrin.
