After a decent size (say 30cm square) wall calendar for 2023.

BMC have a very small collection - all of Scotland it seems.

Rucksack Club have a charity one for Climbers against Cancer, which looks good but doesn't list a size.

Any reccos?

Great that you've spotted the Rucksack Club Charity Calendar in support of Climbers Against Cancer! In answer to your question, it's A4 Landscape and opens to hang as an A3 poster - 28 pages in all - there's a full page feature image each month, with three further thumbnails and loads of space for your important dates.

Once again, every penny of the purchase price will go to support Climbers Against Cancer in funding research around the world. That’s right – think of it as making a £10 charity donation and getting a free calendar! Last year, with your support, we raised over £5,000 for CAC – let’s see if we can go even further this time!

The calendar is available online directly from the CAC Shop: https://www.climbersagainstcancer.org/shop/rucksack-club-cac-calendar/ and from Climb-Europe: https://climb-europe.com/rockclimbingshop/rucksack-club-2023-calendar.html  and is also on sale at local climbing walls. A huge thank you to Climb-Europe, Awesome Walls and the Climbing Works for their support again this year (and watch this space for news of other walls and outlets helping to distribute the calendar - if you'd like to get involved in supporting then please message me!)

Cheers, Dom

With less than 10 weeks of the calendar / stocking-filler buying season left, here's chance to win one of these superb calendars. Can you name the featured route for the month of May? Post your answers as a comment and the closest (area > crag > route) by Monday gets a free calendar.

Of course, if you can't wait or don't want to leave it to chance, you can buy your copy now directly from the CAC Shop

Each to their own but I'd much rather have a calendar of outdoor climbing shots. 😀

The Rucksack club ones are nice.

2022 had a nice range of photos and the 2023 is waiting to go up on the home office wall.

Nice one Ian - I thought I'd better lower the bar a bit after last week's teaser stumped everyone! PM me with your address and I'll get one in the post (unless you happen to be at one of the walls which are stocking it - all the Awesome Walls plus The Works in Sheffield plus Preston Wall and Blochaus Manchester - in which case just pick one up there and wave this message at them).

Watch this space for next week's mystery photo - maybe a bit trickier!

A shameless plug for my own landscape calendar. An A4 sized calendar with mainly alpine esque landscapes from Europe and South America.

It's Scimitar ridge in Llanberis Pass. Not sure of the route though, never climbed there as it was mostly too hard for me! I'll take a guess at Sparta.

Meanwhile, those of you who were baffled, you can still pick up your copy at your local wall or at https://www.climbersagainstcancer.org/shop/rucksack-club-cac-calendar/ Another photo comp shortly!

Disappointed with RC calendar, too much RC specific stuff in it, but at least the £10 has gone to a good cause

It's Green Gully (IV 4) on The Ben - obviously foxed you, and I guess most winter routes look a bit similar!

Of course, you can still buy your copy directly from the CAC Shop https://www.climbersagainstcancer.org/shop/rucksack-club-cac-calendar/ and remember EVERY PENNY goes to support CAC in funding cancer research.  Cheers, Dom

Just had 2023 klettern calendar delivered from Germany. Beautiful photography and a big bold A2 format. Not cheap but need one the same size as I had already or the mark on the wall shows lol!

Thanks Ian, glad you liked it.

You've inspired me to pick the April image as the latest in the "name that route and win a calendar!" series.

... or of course you can just click here and not leave anything to chance (whilst chipping in a tenner for cancer research) https://www.climbersagainstcancer.org/shop/rucksack-club-cac-calendar/

The April shot is on Mother Night (E5 6a) - photo credit Will Rupp.

No winner this week, but there's still time to pick up this perfect stocking filler at your local wall or at the CAC Shop https://www.climbersagainstcancer.org/shop/rucksack-club-cac-calendar/ - think of it as a freebie with a £10 donation to cancer research and everyone is a winner!

Taking inspiration from Ian again, here's the suitability wintery January shot from the CAC charity calendar - guess the crag and route for a final chance to win one.

Or if you don't want to take a chance, head to the CAC Shop https://www.climbersagainstcancer.org/shop/rucksack-club-cac-calendar/ - think of it as a freebie with a £10 donation to cancer research and everyone is a winner!

Meanwhile, Happy Christmas everyone and Best Wishes for a photogenic and well-organised New Year! Cheers, Dom

The calendar season is coming to a close and The Rucksack Club is delighted that we’ve raised almost £4,000 for Climbers Against Cancer. Huge thanks to everyone who bought one, and everyone who helped to promote them. You can still bag yourself a bargain for a fiver (including postage – feel free to donate more!) and why not have a browse of the other goodies in the CAC Shop while you’re there…

Meanwhile, if you are looking for new opportunities for adventures in 2023 then why not Get Out There! with The Rucksack Club. https://rucksackclub.org/findyouradventure/

PS the final photo clue was Original Summer Route (IV 6) on  Cairn Gorm - Stob Coire an t-Sn...
