A question of grades ?

Why is that sometimes climbs are given a different grade when you look at a brief glance of your logbook, and then when you click your logbook it’s something else?

e.g. this week I was in top ascents for beasts in the field, given e5 there, but in actual fact it’s certainly e4 (or e3?!), and when you go to click the climb it’s given e4.

Does it depend on what the voting for the climb is?

The admins will give you a much better answer than I'm about to attempt but I've always suspected that the logbook uses both the guidebook grade and the voted grade in different scenarios for whatever reason.

Something to do with whether the route is in Rockfax - if it is then you see that grade (even if it's wrong) in some places, the UKC grade in others.

Thanks ! That makes sense
