I started climbing at 24 just after TCA opened in Bristol and was instantly hooked. I'd already read the self-coached climber and watched Neil Gresham's master class DVD's before I'd ever gone climbing, so my technique improved quite quickly.
I like trying hard and hate failing so I went through the grades quite quickly until I started getting finger injuries (don't use the crimp grip unless you're desperate!), so nowadays I favour slower improvement and just enjoy being outside around like-minded people having fun. I'd say I like bouldering and routes (sport) fairly equally but I'd really like to do more trad and DWS in the summer.
