I was born last century and my dad had been an alpine photographer in the 50's whilst my Uncle was a senior instructor at Bryntysillio, Llangollen. A number of brill teacher role models directed my keenness and certainly saved me from the ignominy of being a real loser at team sports.
A three year seasonal spell with some blindingly superb colleagues at Drake's Island Adventure centre in the early 80's, where I probably grew-up thanks to their friendship and patience, and then a long spell as a part-timer in outdoor centres and community ed. service alongside my classroom teaching brings me to where I am now.
MIC, training officer for the Ochils MRT and a freelance instructor who, with two kids and a non-climbing partner, is eternally frustrated at not being able to climb enough and longingly admire the exploits of the masses who choose to share their memories in picture and script around the web and in the climbing comics.
