Have done a little scrambling and some rock climbing - I've been on a course and have now led (under instruction) my first climb on my 40th birthday on Brown Slabs, Shepherds Crag, Borrowdale.

*Update* Now quite happy leading VDiffs - it's a case of having to as I climb with my wife who was on the same course as me. I'm hooked and will be spending the winter on the 'walls' gaining power and hopefully loosing a little of my middle aged paunch.

I've also progressed from indoor ice to grade II winter in the Cairngorms in March just gone and I loved it.

The Profile pic was taken in February 2004 on the summit of Glaramara - my friend took the shot and it now hangs on my wall at home.

As keen on photography as I am on mountaineering. I feel that the two go hand in hand and I never head onto the hills without a camera. Sometimes means I don't travel as far but some of the results are worth it.
