Stronghold is a bouldering only centre in North London. Having opened our doors in March 2017, we have established ourselves as a friendly, inclusive climbing centre that welcomes and supports climbers of all ages and abilities.

Reception Manager

We are looking for a motivated, passionate and professional individual to add to our management team in the role of Reception Manager.

Our Reception manager will work alongside our Duty Manager to ensure continued excellent service to all of our customers. Under the direction of the Centre Manager you will oversee the safe running and administration of the centre.

Roles and Responsibilities

Reception

• Ensure excellent customer service is delivered across all areas of the business
• Oversee the efficient running of the front desk
• Train staff in the use of the POS system
• Monitor and manage daily checklists and floor walks
• Diligent implementation of all company policies and procedures

Bookings

• Main point of contact for all booking enquiries
• Manage and improve upon all current offerings
• Monitor and oversee the invoicing for bookings
• Be pro-active in seeking out new business through relevant avenues
• Aside from the above , you will be expected to work on the floor as an all-rounder, with tasks including front desk work, shift management and instruction where qualified.

Essential Skills

• Confident team leader
• Excellent communication with a high level of interpersonal skills
• Exceptional professionalism
• Experience in administration/reception work

Desirable Skills

• An understanding of working in a busy environment
• Experience of working on POS till systems – previous knowledge of RockGymPro would be ideal
• Hold a First Aid at Work certificate
• CWI/RCI, any other relevant climbing qualifications or previous climbing instruction experience

The position is full-time, 40 hours a week, with daytime, evening and weekend shifts required. Salary will be dependent on relevant experience.

Head Instructor

We are looking for a motivated, passionate and professional individual to add to our management team in the role of Head Instructor.

As a Head Instructor, you will be leading our team of instructors and work alongside the Centre Manager and Managing Director to improve and expand the sessions offered at Stronghold. Duties and responsibilities include the delivery and supervision of instructed climbing sessions, manage and develop any climbing programs be it in-house or accredited such as NIBAS. Diligently and effectively follow any Health and Safety policies and procedures and introduce the world of climbing to a wider audience through safe, structured and fun sessions. You will also be overseeing the training and development of our instruction team.

Roles and Responsibilities

The role of Head Instructor will also require you to assist the management team in day-to-day operations which include customer service duties on the front desk and general tasks around the centre as needed.

Essential Skills

• A minimum of CWI or RCI climbing qualifications
• Prior knowledge and delivery of NIBAS/NICAS
• Previous experience of indoor climbing wall instruction
• Confident team leader
• Excellent customer service skills and a high level of professionalism
• Passionate about introducing climbing to a wider audience
• An understanding of Health and Safety in an indoor climbing environment

Desirable Skills

• Experience of working in a busy environment
• First Aid certificate
• Any other relevant climbing qualifications
