The Castle Climbing Centre is hiring! We’re looking for two positions in our team, both of which are salaried roles with guaranteed hours.

Duty Manager & Instructor position

We’re looking for someone to join our team in a joint Duty Manager & Instructor position at the Castle. This role will guarantee 30 hours per week and a salary, with the flexibility to earn extra hours when available at the department’s hourly rate. This joint position requires successful applicants to work across both departments.

Essential requirements:

  • Proven record of excellent customer service
  • Climbing Wall Development Instructor – Assessed
  • Good communications skills – confident and articulate
  • A dynamic individual with a ‘can do’ positive attitude and approach
  • Willingness to work unsociable hours including weekends 
  • Good problem solving skills

This is a joint position requiring successful applicants to work across both departments. Please note: We are also hiring for a purely instructing role, please specify when you apply which role you are interested in as part of your application.

Instructor position

The Castle are looking for an experienced salaried Climbing Instructor to join the team here. This role will be guaranteed 15 hours per week, with extra hours available at our hourly rate. You need to be experienced and excited to instruct people of all ages and abilities, including differently abled climbers. You must be willing to work evenings and weekends and are able to communicate your passion for climbing indoors and outdoors to customers and colleagues alike.

Essential requirements:

  • CWDI or SPA/RCI qualification with at least 6 months of instructing following completion of award
  • An experienced outdoor climber

Desirable:

  • Development Coach Training
