What we are looking for
Our existing Reception Manager is covering the Centre Manager while on Maternity Leave, meaning we are looking for a temporary Reception Manager to support our existing team during this time to ensure continued excellent service to all our customers.

This opportunity provides the chance to demonstrate and learn management skills within our friendly team and will be supported by the Centre Manager and the rest of the management team.

Role and responsibilities
Alongside your management role you will be expected to work “on the floor” as an All-Rounder, performing duties such as reception, bookings, duty management and instruction (if qualified to do so).
However, your main areas of responsibility are as follows:

Reception

  • Train the staff in use of the POS system (Rock Gym Pro)
  • Search for efficiencies within the reception team
  • Establish and maintain a professional, clean and tidy “face” to reception
  • Ensure admin is taken care of diligently and correctly
  • Ensure the Customer Service Policy is kept at the heart of the reception roll

Bookings

  • Train and develop the bookings team
  • Ensure that it is as easy as possible for customers to purchase our products
  • Build on the established skills of the bookings and reception team
  • Search for efficiencies within the bookings team

Customer Service Policy
Redpoint Bristol has in place a customer service policy that has helped us create a reputation for being a friendly and welcoming place to climb and socialise. As the Reception Manager it is vital that this policy is maintained on the ground through the smiles of our receptionists.

Staff Welfare
We have a staff welfare system in place that is there to allow any staff a safe place to talk about anything they wish, be it personal or professional. The entire management team must do everything they can to be approachable by the staff and are responsible for recording and acting on their concerns.

  • Be a professional and approachable member of staff
  • Communicate concerns to at least one other member of the management
  • Record all staff welfare issues

Desirable experience

  • Fluent in the use of Rock Gym Pro including use of it’s integrated bookings system.
  • Must have worked on a climbing centre reception before
  • Understanding staff rotas to organise staffing levels
  • Proven experience managing and supporting a team
  • Be an active climber themselves
  • Worked as a Duty Manager at a climbing centre.

Desirable qualifications

  • CWA/CWI
  • First Aid

Vacancy - Operations Manager and Head Duty Manager

What we are looking for

Role and responsibilities
You will be expected to carry out “all-rounder” duties as rota’d or reasonably requested by the management team. This may include reception, instructing, duty management and any other jobs required by the centre.
However your three main areas of responsibility include Head Duty Manager, PPE Inspections and Maintenance, it is expected that you develop processes which will enable you to oversee these activities in a strategic way.

Head Duty Manager
Working alongside the Duty Management team you empower them to deal with everyday problems through training and development of processes and resources. This ranges from floor-walking, rescues and general care of the building on a daily basis.
You provide DM’s methods to stock-check and re-order consumable supplies.
Ensure that the DM’s are completing their job with due diligence.
Ensure that the Customer Service Policy is kept at the core of the Duty Managers' role.

PPE Inspections
Working alongside the equipment checking team you will ensure the accurate logging and checking of all relevant PPE in the building. Ultimately you will be responsible for ensuring the kit is of a suitable standard and ordering new equipment in a timely manner.
You will be responsible for developing procedures and training to ensure equipment checks are done in your absence.
Responsible for keeping all tools to PUWER standard, stored appropriately and in a good state of repair.
Organising and following up on the annual wall inspection and auto-belay checks which is carried out by external companies.

Maintenance
You will work with a team of all-rounders to maintain the building and facility.
Creating, monitoring and prioritising building issues by developing a method for reporting and following up.
Coordinate the centre's maintenance and be the point of contact for external contractors.

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience managing a team
  • Previous experience working in a climbing wall
  • Experience and some knowledge of trade skills (carpentry, plumbing, electricity)
  • Have wide knowledge of climbing and industrial access equipment
  • Experience logging and maintaining quality check documentation

Desired experience

  • Experience using Rock Gym Pro
  • Knowledge of how a commercial building works and how to solve issues that may arise
  • Knowledge of building regulations
  • Experience of Duty Management in a busy climbing wall

Qualifications

  • CWLA/SPA or above
  • First Aid
  • PPE Competent person course (desirable)
  • Irata Level 1 (desirable)
