The highly skilled staff will support you to take part in climbing whatever your ability and they have a range of specialist equipment available for attendees use during sessions free of charge including hoists, climbing shoes, helmets and a variety of harnesses.

Rock Days (School Holidays)

Bendrigg Trust also run Rock Days as an extension of the paraclimbing club. These run from 9:30am – 4pm during school holidays to give people the chance to develop their outdoor climbing skills.

All specialist equipment and transport is provided but you will need some good outdoor shoes suitable for a short walk to the crag on rough terrain. Exact venues will be decided closer to the time depending on the attendees and the weather. Bendrigg tutors will always try to have an outdoor venue but where weather makes this trickier a different indoor venue such as Ingleton or Kendal Climbing Wall may be used.

The Rock Days are running on the following dates and cost £26 per person to attend.

29th October 2021

Friday 18th February 2022

Monday 4th April 2022

You must book ahead as maximum numbers apply and please provide information about your needs/disability when you book > https://bendrigg.cinolla.com/course/rock-day

(Please note that the climbing club and rock days are heavily dependant on Bendrigg securing funding to cover the cost of staffing and equipment, it may not always be possible for us to put out new dates far in advance but if funding is secured, new dates will be added onto the booking portal and advertised on our social media pages.)

As well as climbing workshops and training, there will also be social activities for a chance to relax and make new friends!

For the full weekend, an inclusive festival package is available for £114 per person! Which includes a full weekend programme of Climbing Workshops & Training Sessions tailored to your ability, comfortable Accommodation & delicious food!

It is preferred that climbers attend the event with a “buddy” or carer but should you feel a buddy is not needed please call us.

We held the climbing festival for the first time in 2020 and the feedback from our climbers and their carers was fantastic.

“We couldn’t fault any of it. It was the perfect mix of climbing, learning skills, about different climbing grips. Having pro-climbers talk and teach us has been amazing, they are so passionate and encouraging.”

We are also please to announce that Team GB Para-climber Anita Aggarwal and John & Lauren aka “The T-shirt Twins”  will be on hand throughout the weekend to offer advice and to chat to all the climbers.
