Golden Gecko Climbing Ltd is an exciting indoor climbing and bouldering centre that opened in Romsey in 2015. It provides access to the sport of climbing and the development of climbing skills to people of all ages and abilities.
We currently have a position available for the right individual, with particular attention to evenings and weekends. This is an ideal time to have a conversation with us, whether you are looking for regular work or occasional hours.
As an instructor, you will be responsible for delivering fun, safe and educational climbing sessions for all ages. The sessions include children’s climbing and NICAS clubs, birthday parties, and adult induction courses.
Further duties within the centre include:
• managing reception, taking bookings and phone calls
• dealing with customer comments and queries
• performing regular checks around the Centre
• promoting a good atmosphere throughout the Centre
• preparation of meals and drinks when required
• cashing up and money handling
• keeping the Centre clean and tidy
Experience and Qualifications.
The successful applicant will be self-motivated and will have:
Essential skills
• Minimum of CWI
• An up-to-date First Aid certificate
• Ability to deliver appropriate climbing sessions for all ages, including a 5-7-year-old climbing club; NICAS clubs from 8-17 years; birthday parties; groups with up to 30 clients; and adult induction courses.
• Customer service skills. Dealing with all customers in a friendly yet professional manner and dealing with any complications/complaints that may arise calmly and appropriately.
• Knowledge and experience in checking PPE.
Desirable skills
• Route setting and working at height
• Indoor climbing experience
• Knowledge of how to use Rock Gym Pro.
• Varied and extensive climbing experience
• Previous outdoor industry experience
• Experience in dealing with money, cashing up tills.
• Food hygiene experience
Part-time hours: 4-30 per week
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Permanent
Salary: £8.36-£10.00 per hour
