I've only ever used Photobox. Are there any alternatives that are worth considering?

Have used https://www.theprintspace.co.uk/ for years. More expensive but you get what you pay for

Can't be any more expensive than Loxley Printing, surely?

Regularly use Peak Imaging: https://www.peak-imaging.com/

probably not as cheap as photobox but again get what you pay for and often if colour balances aren't right etc they'll let you know before printing the photo

In reply to The Lemming:

Use whichever one has a ridiculous voucher code on the thing you want on the day you want to order it. There's always one of them that's basically free if you look around.

I'll check them out as I want to create a Wedding photo book for my niece.

I've used DS Colour Labs in the past when I've wanted some good quality enlargements.  Photobox quality of prints went off a cliff a few years ago when they switched machines.  It's a shame as they used to be brilliant.  I can recommend Bonus Print photobooks which are cheap (when you make use of their regular 50 or 60% off)and pretty good quality.  Don't go for the gloss finish though, which I tried once and wasn't impressed.  Bonus Print prints and enlargements however weren't any better than Photobox really - blurry, poor colours, bleeding of high contrast areas and blacks that definitely weren't anywhere near black (they probably use the same machines as Photobox!).

I've not tried Peak Imaging, but may give them a go next time I need some enlargements

+1 for Peak Imaging.  They've been going for absolutely ages, and know what they're doing.  I have ten year old 30" prints from them on my walls that still look great.

Another vote for Peak Imaging. Had two very high quality wide prints done.
