Probably go into camera settings and reduce the photo quality or photo size, say from 16Mp to something less, or from 16:9 to 4:3 size? Obviously you will lose quality / size though, but not an issue if they're just for social media sharing etc.
Or if you share them over WhatsApp they are automatically reduced in quality and file size quite significantly.
