Just a quick one before I part with my hard earned cash.

Anyone got one ? Pros and cons, satisfaction  etc ?

I really don't want to spend more ( around 340 €  ).

Thanks.

My girlfriend's got the TZ70 and the photos look better than my RX100 mk1 despite the latter having a much higher sensor spec. The TZ80 can only be better.

I've had a few of that series over the years, and the photo quality is excellent. But on the last 6 (including warranty replacements), the lens cover has sooner or later (between 2 weeks and 2 years) stopped opening/closing properly. So my current camera is a Canon.

I have had a few from the series starting with the TZ10.  I currently have the TZ70.

Picture quality is fantastic reason why I have had a few over the years.   Great cameras.

In reply to everyone :

Thanks for the replies guys.

My TZ5 gave 8 years of good service so I'm encouraged to buy another Panasonic.

Build quality, however:  does appear to deteriorated a little.

Yes they are worth having, I'm on my second TZ. The older model had a metal (?) body that was great for a camera that got taken up routes and battered about. I have replaced with a TZ70 which has a slightly less robust feeling body but otherwise is excellent. Both cameras take excellent images, one of the reasons I bought one initially was because they had Zeiss glass.

Shop around and check airport prices if you or a friend travels regularly
