Open to criticism?

If you post a picture on a public website - Instagram, Flickr, Facebook etc - do you accept that it then becomes open to constructive criticism.
This is certainly true of text based posts such as in UKC forums but is there a difference between the two devices?

Photo's on social media are generally more about the subject matter as opposed to being a photo for viewing pleasure in an artistic way.
It's the same for text based posts such as UKC. The content of the post is what is important and it shouldn't really matter if there are spelling mistakes, etc. Saying that, there will always be perdantic busy bodies on text based websites and there even some on UKC...

Not all photos posted are intended to be perfect or even necessarily good. Many might be mere snaps or posted for some other reason. On here I sometimes post a pic because it might be the only shot of a particular route (or simply better that what's up already).

Text is different because it's usually an opinion about something and it's posted with the intention of sparking discussion.

Words are used for debate, images are mostly used to illustrate something.

If you put anything on the internet it's open to all kinds of criticism, abuse, slander, negativity and dislikes.
