Morning UKC'rs

On this shocker of a day if anyone would like a relaxing, vicarious flight from the comfort of your chair, here's another wee aerial vid I've cobbled together all shot Pre-Lockdown and Restrictions.

Featuring a few of my favourite Places of Interest or Landmarks in the UK, going from South to North there are 13 individual clips relating to 13 landmarks so see how many you can identify from this unique perspective. I'll put out a list of the answers in a few days and the first to get all 13 or the closest wins a virtual pat on the back from me!

I thought they were hen harriers but not knowing the location of the tower/obelisk, I might well be wrong.

Thanks for that, having been cooped up for so long it's really nice to be reminded that there's a beautiful world out there waiting for us.  Really well shot footage too...

I think the white horse they're flying above is in Wiltshire.  I know there's loads of these things dotted around the country so I could be wrong....

Agree with Tringa, definitely red kites.

In November there were 140 of them roosting in a tree just a few km from here before moving off South. No Covid ban for these guys!

Made me homesick for the UK... Many look familiar, but the only one I'm pretty sure of it the second, Corff Castle...

You must have had great fun shooting these - excellent arm-chair viewing for the rest of us - thank you!

I only got 6.  The beech woodland is quite tricky!

4 Maiden Castle possibly?

7 Ridgeway in Wiltshire somewhere? Birds are red kites.

10 Bolton Abbey possibly?

12 Derwent / Ladybower reservoir.

My guess is Westonbirt Arboretum. 

Beautiful video - we do have a wonderful range of landscapes to enjoy. 

I only 1. and 2.

And 2. I wouldn't have been able to spell.

7. I think I know the county, do I get half a point I wonder?

Is the video of no. 3 playing backwards? The wave movement looks rather weird.

Going by the South to North rule, then as a previous poster said, it's highly likely to be Westonbirt. 

Saying that, Westonbirt is further North than the Cherhill White Horse... 🤔

Yeah, I wasn't sure about that one and was even less so afterwards when I looked on Google images.

I spent too long thinking they were the Cullins in the distance, but I had that wrong. But Pretty sure you have that right.

So any hope of number 5?

 But the Cuillins ARE on Rum ....

I think you now have all 13 answers between you however honourable mentions must go out to Lankyman, FactorXXX, Neil Henson, Iamgregp, bilberry and oliwarlow for various correct answers but the "Big Chief I-Spy" award must go to BuzyG who has most of them correct!

And the two raptors on Clip 6 are Red Kites which appeared from out of nowhere in a group of around 6 and being inquisitive birds, unlike a lot of other raptors, came to check my drone out. Thankfully as red kites tend to only eat carrion, they did not view my precious as a meal...🙂 

So well done BuzyG with 11 out of 13 correct, have a well earned virtual pat on the back from me!

It was indeed.  Though being old and well travelled I knew several  straight off the bat. Great fun little quiz.
