Care to share the three most viewed images in your Flickr account?

And are you surprised by how those images have collected the most views?

Shouldn't you be showing me yours if you want me to show you mine?

I couldn't figure out why this picture taken in June 2010 had so many hits. I eventually worked out that it was the small snow patch left of centre. At that time it was the last surviving patch in the Southern Highlands.

I too was surprised to learn what my three most viewed images were. However I really like your Top Three and I can see why the crane got number one spot as it is composed so well. Personally, I think the ducks have it for the top spot.

But then I can only dream about seeing an aurora, let alone capture one digitally.

I don't want people to accuse me of upping my view count.

However, its only fair.

Second https://www.flickr.com/photos/the1lemming/34315835660/

Third https://www.flickr.com/photos/the1lemming/4890518376/

I would have loved it that my landscape and climbing shots were up there, but alas they are not. Got to admit it though, I was very chuffed with myself when I captured Mr Squirrel.

OK then.

First, https://www.flickr.com/photos/8411024@N08/23913797733 This was a scan from a slide and it made it into the 'explore' gallery, which baffled me at the time and to an extent, still does. However, recognition of any sort is welcome!

Second, https://www.flickr.com/photos/8411024@N08/8685720674 People like otters, so I'm not too surprised.

Third, https://www.flickr.com/photos/8411024@N08/35281027755 This is the most recent of the three and again, another that made it to the 'explore' gallery. If you ever have the opportunity to look round Nick Mason's garden when it's open for charity, it's well worth the trip.

One of things that gets particularly one of my shots (not a top three so I won't share to keep things on topic, but you can find it if you nose around) a fair few views is metadata. Getting the right tags onto photos can get them more views, sometimes from unexpected searches. Consequently, I feel that I've both surprised and disappointed a few viewers with one of my shots of a climb at Tremadog. The information provided in the 'source breakdown' section on the statistics page tells me that they were searching for 'striptease'...

Definitely unexpected results.

The top one is actually OK, and is probably there because its been linked from a forum photo comp on SOTP.

The next 2 are boringly similar, from the same drop on the Usk. Why they're up there, I don't really know, loads from that particular day appear.

The next two that aren't from the same day are quite nice ones from Inverpolly. They're linked to a blog I did, which probably explains the views.

Top is one of my favourites:

Next is a lucky grab, handheld as I waited for the last client in a group to put their jacket away:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/paganusimages/28738095864/

Third is a random one from a trip to Denbigh Asylum (and not particularly good, must be a good thumbnail):

Flickr doesn't seem to get the traffic it once did though.

Baffled by why these are popular. The first one is nothing special, just a snap of a friend at Font. The second I quite like the photo, but this is a scan of a negative and is lacking contrast (I have made some prints of this that are much better). And the third is a pretty crap photo but I guess gets the hits because of the masonry imagery....

They all made Explore (#4 did too).

Suilven only made it to number three?

I was surprised at the 3rd one, I think I have much better ones than that.

And that Puffin is awesome too.

Got to admit, all your bird shots are breath taking.

Top one makes sense to me. Second one is a mediocre cave shot! Third one I do like, but there's much better in my gallery.
