What is your favourite film?
No second choices, no explanations. Just the name of your absolutely most very favourite film.
That way we just have a list of films without having to wade through reams of subjective opinion.
We can then pick and choose which to watch! We can be surprised that a poster might pick a film we didn't suspect they would!
Then we can have a thread where we explain our choice. But for this thread just the name of the film. Not a series or a TV thing just a film that has been shown at a cinema first.
( someone is bound to balls this up on purpose or by not understanding the rules! )
I will start....
Lawrence of Arabia
Kelly's Heroes
The English Patient
Where Eagles Dare
the big Lebowski
North by Northwest
Last of the Mohicans
O Brother, Where Art Thou?

All quite on the western front.
Death in Venice
Local Hero
Donnie Darko
American splendour
To Kill a Mockingbird
Rogue One
Local Hero
2001: A Space Odyssey
The life aquatic with Steve zissou
I keep getting pulled in to watching OHMSS as soon as the main protagonist arrives in Lauterbrunnen and zooms off by sleigh and then helicopter to Piz Gloria
it was the music from that film (including Piz Gloria/alpine mood themes cunningly embedded) that improved No Time to Die
(the same happens when Born Free is on)
Shawshank Redemption
Dr Strangelove, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.
Amazing how a thread that consists basically of a list can be both boring and refreshing at the same time.
The Fabulous Baker Boys
Airplane!
Jaws
Apocalypse Now
Chicken Run
Gladiator
Jan Svankmeyer's Alice.
The Field.
Zulu
Cliffhanger
Das Boot.
Sonatine (dir Takeshi Kitano).

The Apartment
Brazil
Top Gun
Apollo 13.
Delicatessen
The Blues Brothers.
Monty Pythons Life of Brian
Cling

Festen
The Full Monty
Nuts in May.
Blue Juice
If
I've already seen 14 of my favourite films in the above.
I'll add one more -Bladerunner
Dave
Notting Hill.
Apocalypse Now
Local Hero
The great escape
Ran
2001: a space odyssey
The Flight of the Phoenix (original one).
In Bruges

> Ronin
(We recorded the soundtrack to Ronin at the recording studio I worked at (I was the assistant to the assistant sound engineer!)...that car chase is something else!)
Last of the Mohicans
Good Fellas
12 Monkeys
No Country For Old Men
Casablanca
Mystic River
Bridge of Spies
Fiddler on the Roof.
(No broadway on the list, previously, or did I just miss it?)
No one has said it yet so I'm going with Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, even though the real answer is probably one that's already been mentioned.
Casablanca
Withnail and I
I would struggle to name a favourite, but maybe "Life is Beautiful" would be the one.
Master and Commander
or... Guardians of the galaxy
Escape from the dark
(aka Littlest Horse Thieves in USA where original title was seen as too sinister)
The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.
Ice cold in Alex
I like the original 'Whiskey Galore!', the black and white version, it's a staple from childhood and becoming comfortingly familiar. It may not be my one favourite, but it's a good film, along with The Lady Killers.
Last of the Mohicans
It's a Wonderful Life
The good, the bad and the ugly.
House of Flying Daggers
Dead Man's Shoes
Local Hero
Underground
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
