With all the preventative measures in action at the moment, i’m baffled that supermarkets and express stores are still filling their bakery isles with trays of unpackaged good (croissants muffins etc) - that are sat there all day while 100’s of people walk around and reach into / over the produce.

How is this still appropriate? I mean you can wash fruit and veg, but you can’t run a pain au chocolat under the tap.

Bit drastic.

Maybe close the shop, or package the goods?

Isn't Coronavirus a respiratory virus that lives longer on surfaces such as plastic rather than porous surfaces and isn't transmitted be ingestion. If this is the case you're probably safer unwrapped?

I don't know about ingestion but it can be transmitted via mucus membranes so if you put the virus in your mouth it could get into your system via the inside of the mouth etc.

From the title I had a vision of a large vat of cold baked beans sitting in a supermarket isle
