Does anyone know what's happening with Erics cafe campsite. We were turned away on Friday evening, they said it was full but only two tents on there!

Also wanted to charge me 50p to use toilet. Seems like they don't want customers!  We camped in Porthmadog at Morfa Bychan black rocks, great campsite and only 10 mins away. Also decided not to use or park near Erics! 

There was a long thread about Eric's café & campsite a few months ago including contributions from the new owner. Sounded like climbers are no longer their major clientele

OK thanks. Im not sure but think they are miss guided as to their best line of business. 

With the camping barn also being closed now, its meaning less trips to Tremadog for us. Its a real pity

The campsite looked deserted when we went to climb at Tremadog last Sunday morning.  Could only see the four mini-yurts, and it didn't appear that anyone was staying in them.

Yes we were turned away on Friday evening. On Saturday morning we could only see two tents on the site. The yurts were all empty all weekend. We decided to not use the cafe and not even park there. Won't be long before they realise they've made a mistake. Short sighted business model at such a climbing hot spot.
