Currently borrowing a Concept2 rowing machone but need to give it back...

Looking on ebay at 2nd hand similar machies but they are still a bit pricey and delivery/pick up is a pain.

Has anyone tried any of the cheaper alternatives and rate them?

I’ve tried one non concept II rower, it wasn’t a cheap one but I still wasn’t that impressed.

Concept II are the gym standard and last for ever and give a consistent “feel”.

This was asked on here just a few weeks ago. Might be worth a search.

Realistically, the only ones worth having are the Concept 2 or a Water Rower.

Neither are cheap but both are head and shoulders over any other. I know. I've spent days at a time on them!

Keep trawling ebay and FB marketplace.  I got my model D concept 2 with 80km of use for £200 from someone who didn't know the resale value the hold.

To put it bluntly I would only look at Concept 2 machines, yes they are about £800 new and their second hand value is still a bit pricey but they are the best out there. They are pretty tough bits of kit and 99% of rowing clubs swear by them. The PM5 units have bluetooth so you can hook it up to heart rate monitors and the C2 phone app.
