In reply to Pursued by a bear:

Feeding the rat is a great book.

In reply to Pursued by a bear:

One of the finest writers and most astute critics to have been associated with the climbing scene: "The Savage God" made a big impact on me in my youth.  Very appropriate as the origin of the name of the route on Blackchurch, too.

In reply to Pursued by a bear:

Like most on here, I only really knew him from "Feeding the Rat" (which is great) - what an extraordinary and talented individual.

I see I even wrote a review - https://www.amazon.com/Feeding-Rat-Climbers-Life-Adrenaline/dp/1560253274 - I must dig around on my bookshelves for a re-read.
