They already have this technology, but it's limited to changing the colour at the corners of the bodywork. Problem is BMW drivers don't know how to use it

Merck (edit; pretty sure it was Merck) produced a thermochromic car paint about 25 years ago.  The streamlines visible on the bonnet of a car being thrashed round a track were very cool.  Regulators wouldn’t entertain the idea for a moment, any more than they will ePaper bodywork.

Is now a good time to rant about ******* animated indicators on new models?
