Am I imagining it, or do any threads that discuss political matters get taken down from the forum now? Yesterday evening there was a long thread on prorogation and another about Brexit matters in general. I cannot find them now and I'm puzzled.

I think you maybe just need to click 'show recent topics' to unhide the ones that haven't had posts since you last looked!

Unless they get over the offensive/abusive hurdle (as a thread rather than just one or two posts being deleted) then I think the only threads that get taken down as a matter of course are ones that get into the Israel/Palestinian/anti-Semitic area unless they stay very specific to some particular aspect (which of course never happens and apart from being repetitively tedious these threads usually end up over the offensive/abusive hurdle as well ).

You could always check with Alan what their "taking threads down" policy is.

In my experience such threads more often go to the pub to die quietly.  There is a sense of justice in that when many hours of unnecessary nasty ranting get binned.
