In lockdown one they had to shut it down. I walked up it during the icy spell and there was loads of big groups. 

Were none of them local then? Or were they nuns?

Interestingly there is a nunnery nearby.

Me and my mates used to wait for the Horwich bus outside Wigan Casino and see all the soul boys and girls coming out after an all-nighter.  We'd be off to walk and climb, they'd be off to bed.
